Compare the Chevrolet Corvette and Ford Mustang

If you're reading this, then you're probably wondering - "what is the right sports car for me? "After all, much more than just about fulfilling practical transportation needs, a sports car, muscle car, or performance-oriented car offers a dynamism and fun-factor unlike any other category of vehicle. If you're looking in this category, then you're likely looking to maximize your fun-factor, and that means you'll be wanting a sports car that's packed not only with power, but also plenty of standard and available features.

If you're still reading, and all the above holds true, then you're probably considering both the Chevrolet Corvette and Ford Mustang. The Mustang offers four seats, and the Corvette is a two-seater. Both, however, come in convertible and coupe form. And that's just the beginning. We're to help you decide between these two cars by providing you with the following comparison across multiple significant criteria. From safety to power to price and more, you'll get a better handle on how the Corvette and Mustang are similar, and how they are distinct.

The Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Corvette take different approaches to performance. The entry-level Mustang EcoBoost offers a standard turbocharged four-cylinder engine, albeit one that offers an impressive 310-horsepower. The Mustang GT trim, in comparison, offers a 460-horsepower V8. And then, there's the Mustang Shelby GT350 (available only in coupe form), which offers a 526-horsepower V8. By comparison, the entry-level Corvette Stringray starts things off with 455 horsepower, with the Corvette Grand Sport offering 460 horsepower and the high-performance Corvette Z06 offering 650-horsepower.

The Ford Mustang offers a standard rearview camera. So does the Chevy Corvette. The Mustang also can be had with features like rear parking sensors, forward collision warning, and more. The Corvette offers a front curb-view camera.

Connectivity and Interior Accommodations

You won't be wanting for the latest in-car technology, no matter whether you choose the Mustang or the Corvette. Base Corvette models offer a MyLink infotainment system with an 8-inch touchscreen display. Bose audio and both Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ smartphone integration are available as well. The base trim comes with leather upholstery, push button-start, dual-zone automatic climate control, and more. The Mustang offers similar features, including an 8-inch touchscreen and 12-speaker Shaker audio system, but they come as options. The standard audio and infotainment system has 6-speakers and a smaller touchscreen. Plus, the base-model Mustang doesn't have standard leather, dual-zone automatic climate control, or many of the other niceties that come standard on the Corvette.

A base-model Mustang runs about $26,000. A base-model Corvette, in contrast, runs about $56,000. That's a notable difference. But given that the Corvette offers 450-horsepower to start, you're probably more interested in a Mustang GT, which starts at around $35,000, or a Mustang Shelby GT350, which begins at just about $65,000.
